Today is Independence Day, one of the most important days in United State’s history!

In 1776, the American Revolution was still going on. At the time, the results of the war were inconclusive, but the 2nd Continental Congress convened on July 4, 1776. The founding fathers signed the document created by Thomas Jefferson, future U.S. president. Future president John Adams also signed the document. Strangely, both men died on the 50th anniversary of the signing of the declaration of independence.

This document did not complete the process of American independence, but it was one of the great stepping stones to get to independence. It was the United States standing up to Great Britain and eventually winning a war against a world power.

I am grateful to live in the United States of America, which has great values, and I hope that we honor God and our Constitution!
