I am part of a Toastmasters group at CFS Poway, and I enjoy it very much!
Toastmasters International is an educational organization that has many clubs worldwide, with the purpose of improving its student’s leadership and public speaking skills. Toastmasters was founded by Ralph C. Smedley in 1924, and was incorporated into California law in 1932. There are currently nearly 350,000 members of the association, and it has served over 4 million throughout its history!
In my Toastmasters Club, there are many roles: Speakers who give the main speeches, Evaluators who evaluate them, a Timer who times the speeches, Table Topics Speakers who have a short impromptu speech, Table Topics Master, General Evaluator, who evaluates the meeting as a whole, and finally the Toastmaster, who leads the meeting. Just yesterday I gave a speech about The Movies to the Toastmasters members.
Toastmasters is a very fun organization that I suggest you look into, and it is extremely helpful If you want it to be!
